Day 4 (Saturday May 15th)

Up until today, our little Adelaide has been - a perfect angel. But it was learnt last night that even little angels can loose their wings for a moment or two. It was a rough night during which lots of crying and fussing was heard to be going on. Stephanie and Jim remained calm throughout the hours of on and off crying and not wanting to breast feed correctly. Sandra went over in the early afternoon and fortunately was able to hold Adelaide while Jim-Stephanie and Ken-Louise slept for a few hours....Sandra was in heaven.
There is something to be said for the line ' a picture is worth a thousand words'

Stephanie, I want you to know how absolutely proud I am of you and how you take care of Adelaide. You are patient, and patient some more and gentle with her. I know that she can feel the love you have for her by how you tenderly hold her to you. Don't ever doubt that mothering instinct that you now have as part of you, this is kind of like the Holy Ghost and will often be your guide when you are raising each of your children. Trust it and trust how you sometimes will just 'know' that something is right/wrong or good/bad. Welcome to motherhood. Love you always - but you'll always be my baby.
